These five shows would turn out to be Queen's final tour of Japan. Compared to the April shows, the band offer relatively more enthusiastic performances in Japan, a nation that embraced the band from the very beginning.

A bit of Tear It Up from this concert was shown on Japanese TV.

Freddie's voice is in fantastic shape for the first couple nights in Tokyo, and both audiences are very enthusiastic.

Brian breaks a string in the instrumental section in Now I'm Here. Once he has hastily retrieved a Red Special copy, Roger queues him in with a quick snare fill to make his entrance sound as natural as possible. True pros.

Some sources report that this show took place on May 7, but it was on the 8th. It was very expensive to rent the Budokan, so it would have been impractical to rent it for three days and only use it on two of them.

The first row of photos were taken backstage by Koh Hasebe at one of these Japanese shows just before the band went on (as well as the last two live shots). The second set of pics were taken by Dave Matkin.

This alternate source that emerged in 2008 is far superior to the other audience source.

The Billy Joel song at the beginning of the disc is the last song of the house music. Minus this bit, the Queen portion of the recording is 50 minutes long. The taper alleges that he lost the other tape.
