This is one of only two times Queen would perform Teo Torriatte in its entirety (with Brian switching to his guitar for the "When I'm gone" part), at the expense of Save Me tonight. This version would definitely be the better of the two. After Love Of My Life, Freddie gets the audience to clap rhythmically while he does some vocal improv. When he's done, they're not: "Now I can't fucking stop 'em! Stop!" he shouts. And they quickly do, probably a bit startled by his demand. Towards the end of Fat Bottomed Girls, Freddie adlibs "Bicycle, bicycle", surely the last reference to Bicycle Race on stage. As he had done a few times earlier in the year, Freddie plays the intro to Death On Two Legs before Bohemian Rhapsody. It would be heard only one more time, in 1985. Tonight he sings the verses of Bohemian Rhapsody almost identically to the studio version, although his voice is struggling a bit on the higher notes. Still, as always, he gives his all. Freddie does a lot of vocal improv at the beginning of We Will Rock You. He then sings the second verse with a very different and interesting melody line. Tonight would be the final performance of Rock It. Many thanks to Masahiko for confirming the venue of this show. |

This early 90s bootleg CD uses the same audience source as above, but it's from a pre-LP tape - perhaps the master tape, as the sound quality is so good and clear (there is a bit of bass distortion at times, but the recording is still nearly excellent). There are additional bits of tape before Fat Bottomed Girls, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, and Another One Bites The Dust - although a minute and a half at the beginning of the show is cut. For some reason the bootleg label wanted to squeeze the show onto a single disc, and five songs are missing as a result. Some copies of this silver were erronously pressed with a Rainbow '74 video rip instead, naturally leading people to believe all copies were fakes. Those who managed to get their hands on a genuine copy, however, got to hear one the best Queen bootlegs of all. The genuine copies somehow went unnoticed by collectors for almost 15 years. |
