These six shows in Japan are Queen's first proper tour of the country in three years, and a considerably shorter one than that previous jaunt. Although the concerts are very good, they seem to be gigs the band simply want to rush through quickly enough because they so desperately need a break. That said, their apathy for the road never takes over the music. Each show has its great moments, and to keep things as fresh as possible, they each have a different setlist. The correct setlists for the two nights in Fukuoka were finally confirmed in 2022 after an old Japanese fan club magazine was discovered with first-hand accounts of the shows.

After being dropped for the North American leg, The Hero from the Flash Gordon soundtrack album has returned to the set as the opening song.

This is the first full performance of the fast We Will Rock You since the Milton Keynes show.

The CD released by the Imtrat label in Germany was briefly an official release, as explained below (the same goes for the material from the following night).

Whilst in Fukuoka, the band do an interview with Music Life magazine where they discuss many topics, including the live version of Under Pressure. "We practice making it sound heavier than on the record," says Brian May. "It was tough, but it's necessary to put in effort to do well. I like the live version better, too." Freddie adds, "That's right, and also, we thought from the beginning that we could do it. We worked really hard at rehearsing it. That's why we were able to do it. It's necessary to practise, no matter what kind of song it is."

Side 6: Flash (tape), The Hero, We Will Rock You (fast), Play The Game, Calling All Girls, Body Language, Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody

Side 6 of this 3-LP set is from the first night in Fukuoka.

Due to the excessive EQing done for most of the other bootlegs (or "semi-official" releases) of this show, the original LP remains the best version.

Lineage: "Live USA" (Imtrat) silvers

Track listing:
Flash (tape), The Hero, We Will Rock You (fast), Play The Game, Calling All Girls, Body Language, Under Pressure, Bohemian Rhapsody

These discs were actually an official release in the early '90s. The Imtrat label discovered a loophole in German copyright law stating that live recordings of foreign artists recorded in the US were not protected. So they called the CDs "Live USA" and didn't use any images of the band on the covers, guaranteeing unlicensed but legal releases. About 300 CDs of various artists were released between 1991 and 1993 (here is a listing of all the releases).

Imtrat released two discs of Fukuoka material, taken from the old "Hot Space Tour '82" LPs. The first disc contains a few tracks from the first night. These tracks are from the same source as above, but they are once again Imtrat's "professional" remaster.

This box was likely released in the early 90s.

The Fukuoka material is identical to Live USA volumes 2 and 3. Disc 1 is from a Mannheim '86 radio broadcast, not Wembley as some sources report.

This is a 1994 compilation bootleg. Five tracks from Fukuoka '82 are included, two of which are from the first night. The rest of the material is from the 1977 BBC session (with fake audience noise added) and Hammersmith Odeon '75.

There were three reissues of this bootleg, all of which had some kind of design flaw in the artwork. The last one was a plastic bag containing the discs.

This 3-CD set released in the late 90s is a straight copy of the above 3-LP. The discs come in a cardboard slipcase, designed to mimic the original LP.

In 2001, there were three 3-disc releases with this title. This was the first, in a double-gatefold sleeve.

Musically they are all identical. The three discs are a straight copy of the "Queen" box listed above, with the same Fukuoka and Mannheim '86 material.

This is the second "Play The Game" release, supposedly by a label called Black Panther. The given release date of 1991 is incorrect.
