The band are constantly dodging mosquitos at this outdoor ampitheatre gig in Berlin. And the new songs don't seem to go down particularly well. After performing three Hot Space songs in a row, a frustrated Freddie, right after Back Chat ends, says, "That's it!" After a brief pause, he continues. "Okay, enough of this new crap. We're gonna go back a few albums and do something really dirty." He doesn't hide his contempt for the people who didn't dig the new tunes. "This is for all the dirty people in the audience, which there are a lot of. This is..." He stops as many people boo, quite understandably! "For all the people who like fucking a lot, this is a song for you called Fat Bottomed Girls."

In his Queen Live book, Greg Brooks has listed Sheer Heart Attack in the first encore, but without a complete recording it's currently impossible to know. Chances are, since the band played the fast We Will Rock You at the beginning of the show, they omitted Sheer Heart Attack like they did three nights ago. And considering the cold reception to some of the new songs, the band probably wanted to end this show sooner than later.

This is the second live airing of Body Language. Mercury goes for one of the soaring high notes near the end, but after this night it would be dropped from the set temporarily, likely because it wasn't the tightest of performances.

The first set of photos was taken by Thomas Pannenberg (and are copyrighted to him). The second set was taken by Mathias Fischer from the front row.

Some recordings of this show include the encores, but they are spliced in from another date.

This copy's transfer is a bit overblown by the end, and Get Down Make Love is mostly panned to one channel - such analog manipulations are rarely an accident.

This version may be a tape generation or two better. A second is missing from each track from a bad CDR burn/rip, and Save Me is missing altogether.
