As is indicated by this flyer, this second night at the Sporthalle was added on later due to ticket demand. "Thank you for making it possible for us to do a second night in Cologne," says Brian before Love Of My Life. It's a brilliantly energetic show, just like the first night.

A few changes are made to the setlist. Sheer Heart Attack has returned after its brief absensce, unusually as the second song of the set. As a result, Tie Your Mother Down is moved to be after Bohemian Rhapsody, where it had been for a few years previously and would remain for the rest of the year. Now I'm Here and Dragon Attack now come much earlier in the set, and they too will stay where they are through the end of the year.

Back Chat is performed tonight in place of Staying Power.

Recording length: 87 minutes (2 CD, incomplete)
Quality: C+

Lineage: AUD > Cassette (x) > WAV > FLAC level 8
Track listing:
Flash (tape), The Hero, Sheer Heart Attack, Action This Day, Play The Game, Back Chat, Somebody To Love, Now I'm Here, Dragon Attack, Now I'm Here (reprise), Love Of My Life, Save Me [cut], Get Down Make Love [cut], guitar solo, Under Pressure, Fat Bottomed Girls, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Bohemian Rhapsody, Tie Your Mother Down, Another One Bites The Dust, We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions [cut]

Most of Save Me is missing. It takes the taper a little while to flip the tape, as the recording resumes well into Get Down Make Love. There are tape speed issues in a few places on side B.

The genuine recording cuts out part way through We Are The Champions. Any version with the rest of Champions and God Save The Queen is a splice from another show.

Previous copies of the recording had an overblown tape transfer and hiss reduction done on it. This copy has a few seconds of the opening act After The Fire, as well as an extra minute of tape at the beginning of Queen's set. There are also a few seconds of extra tape after the tape flip.

Recording length: 9 minutes (1 DVD, incomplete)
Video quality: B
Source: Audience
Lineage: 8mm silent video > ? > VHS (x) > DVD-R (x)

The 9 minutes of silent cine footage from the European Hot Space tour is actually from four shows - Hanover (two minutes), both nights in Cologne (2 minutes and 1 minute respectively), and Boblingen (4 minutes).

Older copies of the footage were so high generation that they had much saturation and switched back and forth between colour and black and white, but this copy is fully in colour.

The 8mm format was declining in popularity in the 1980s in favour of other formats, but this is likely an 8mm film because most (if not all) other gear available around this time had the ability to record sound.
