City: Sunderland, UK
Venue: Locarno
Date: March 8, 1974

The band's ambitious sophomore effort, Queen II, is released in the UK today. On numerous occasions Brian May would state this to be his favourite Queen album.

A fan recalls this show:

"The big show-stopping number was 'Liar' which extended to around 10 minutes live and was a massive favourite at the time. This was a great gig, that everyone I knew attended and talked about for months, if not years, afterwards. Queen were amazing, and starting to make a big name for themselves."

Another fan who attended the show says The Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke was played.

A review of the following night's show in Cambridge mentions the Sunderland concert.
