Brian, after the second song: "Thank you. We're gonna make some noise tonight, ok? Ok, this is a little song from Mr. Mercury entitled Somebody To Love."

Freddie starts playing Spread Your Wings in the wrong piano octave and then quickly corrects himself.

Tonight Brian is a man possessed. His playing is incendiary, pulling out nearly every trick he can from his arsenal. His solos are sublime, particularly in Killer Queen and It's Late.

Initially it's an average night for Freddie, although he really warms up by It's Late, where he is very creative. The second chorus is one of many nice vocal harmony moments of the night. This is definitely one of the best versions of the News Of The World track ever performed.

The band decide they want to have a band intro on the live album, so for the next few nights Brian does so when John and Roger return to the stage after Love Of My Life. "For this special number we'd like to welcome back the rest of the Queen group. Featuring on drums, Mr. Roger Meddows-Taylor. And on bass guitar, Mr. John Deacon. And on maracas, Mr. Freddie Mercury."

If You Can't Beat Them was performed much later in the set than usual. The band were rotating it with Fat Bottomed Girls, but this was a very good night so they played both.

Here is a preview to the Leiden '80 show, including a picture that was most likely taken at one of these two 1979 shows: http://www.queencuttings.com

Here are two reviews of the show in Dutch (1, 2), the first of which was submitted by Raf Foubert.

The last ten pictures could be from either night at the Ahoy, the ninth of which was submitted by Bobby the Cat.
