This show ended up being cancelled due to extremely cold weather. There was an oil shortage, which meant the arena couldn't be heated. The band offered to play the show without heating, but the Dayton city council refused and pulled the plug.
Brian May recalled the unseasonably cold winter in a Capital Radio interview later in the year: "We were very lucky, actually. We had a very good crew, and they managed to truck the stuff around through all the worst weather, and we only lost one gig in all that bad weather. And that wasn't because we weren't there. It's because they would not allow us to use the power because they had a fuel shortage. That was pretty frustrating, but we managed to fulfill all the contracts, which is great."
