City: Waterbury, CT, USA
Venue: Palace Theater
Date: January 27, 1976

This is the opening show of the 1976 US tour, most likely including the first performance of Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon. In a Melody Maker piece later in the year, Brian May spoke almost regrettably about the fact that they had so little time to rehearse for the UK leg of the A Night at the Opera tour, but the first few weeks of January produced only this one addition to their show.

In an interview for the November 5, 1976 Record Mirror, Brian recalled how this was the first tour where the venues were selling out everywhere. He then spoke about the differences between British and American audiences: "Here the fans are more reserved until they have reached a point where they can explode. In the States they are ready to explode at the beginning. They will give you anything you want - once you gain their favour."
