The November 23 New Music Express had an extensive piece on this show and the following night. It mentions the disappointment of their more pop-oriented fans who came to hear Killer Queen, as only a third of the song came and went as part of a medley. Big Spender is interrupted when Brian May's curly cable breaks, forcing the others to improvise until it's fixed. A piece in Melody Maker says he threw his spare guitar onto the floor after the song's conclusion (perhaps this explains why he soon switched from that Stratocaster to a Les Paul as his spare). |
