The Sheer Heart Attack album is released today, which means all of the earlier shows of the tour contained plenty of material which their audiences didn't recognize at all (although Killer Queen and Flick Of The Wrist had been released as a double A-side single on October 11). Their third album encompassed many genres of music, and presented Queen's unique sound in a very accessible manner.
Brian May mistakenly leads back into the main riff of Ogre Battle after the first chorus, resulting in the second verse being skipped.
Before the medley, Freddie says, "Tell you what, we'd like to do something totally new for you. It's about four pieces rolled into one. Three are on our new album Sheer Heart Attack, which went out today." The mention of the album garners a much better response than it did a couple nights ago in Bradford, now that people have heard it.
In Killer Queen, Freddie starts to sing the second verse (beginning with "to avoid complications"), but he has forgotten that their current arrangement of the song is one verse and chorus before the guitar solo. He then mumbles a couple words on top of Brian's playing and butts out.
The order of songs in the middle of the show has been shuffled a bit, but the band would soon revert back to the setlist from two nights ago.
For the first few shows of the tour, Brian was heard 'pre-bending' the notes at the end of Flick Of The Wrist like on the record version. Starting on this night, however, Queen would implement an alternative ending - after a moment of guitar feedback, the band now play the last few bars of Brighton Rock. The song would be performed like this through 1976.
Freddie is dragged into the audience during the encore, as he gets a bit too close. A few security guards have to fetch him out!
Brian reflects on the UK tour in the December 7th Record Mirror: "The audience at the Apollo in Glasgow was amazing. In fact most of the gigs in the north were staggering, places like Bradford and Sheffield. They knew all the songs, even the words on the new album before it was out."

Procession [cut], Now I'm Here, Ogre Battle, Father To Son, White Queen, Flick Of The Wrist, In The Lap Of The Gods, Killer Queen, The March Of The Black Queen, Bring Back That Leroy Brown, Seven Seas Of Rhye, Stone Cold Crazy, Son And Daughter, Keep Yourself Alive, Liar, In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited, Big Spender, Modern Times Rock 'n' Roll, Jailhouse Rock
This is a pretty bad recording of an early Sheer Heart Attack tour show, and actually an upgrade of previous versions. Earlier copies cut in part way through Now I'm Here, and had far more tape hiss.
The recording is virtually complete, aside from God Save The Queen being missing.
