In George Tremlett's 1976 book about the band, Tim Staffell says this was the first Queen show he attended, and he remembered a few of the songs they played that night. He particularly recalled them to be "starting to get a really coherent act together," and that Freddie was much more extroverted now than he'd ever been.

See What A Fool I've Been is best known as the non-album B-side to Seven Seas of Rhye in 1974, and Staffell recalls them performing it in the Smile days (particularly at their Royal Albert Hall gig on February 27, 1969). It was effectively a cover, as it was inspired by a 1958 song titled "That's How I Feel" by Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee. Although Staffell mentions the song's origin in the Tremlett book, it took Brian May until 2004 to confirm it, where he then publicly stated his intention to contact the writers' estates to sort of the retroactive royalty payments.
